Brennius wrote "I normaly portray COH 1st DACOROVM with my Falx as well".

Any chance of a picture - that could look awesome.......

"Scythian bow I think, it's not mine..."

I think it's a Hungarian. It looks very similar to mine.

Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Et tu brute - 06-08-2007

Hi Crispvs, what poundage bow do you use? I'm looking at getting a 35 or 40 for myself. Oh, and could this possibly be the bow http://www.bowshop.eu/?term=26

Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Crispvs - 06-08-2007

Not being the strongest man in the world, mine is a 37lb Grozer Hungarian Extra 'C'.

At the time I was also looking at getting a Kassai bow like the one in your link but the Grozer turned out to be easier to get on the day. One day, perhaps when my son is a little older, I might get to use it a bit more.

Will you be at Chester by the way?
Graham.

Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Crispvs - 06-08-2007

Graham,

I didn't know Chester was happening this year! Confusedhock:

If it is then I would certainly like to be there. It doesn't seem to be on our list of events for this year though - I wonder if it might clash with something else. When is it scheduled to take place?

Robin Hood in disguise? I'm still not sure which i'll go for, but I don't think it'll make that much differance as I know they can vary by a few lbs to what you order anyway.

Hi Quintus,

Great pics. Your lads turn out is great, I'm sure you are proud of them.

Hi Crispvs, yes Chester is on June 29th and 1st July but a bit of a different format to what we are used to. Hope to see you there.

Regards,

Gary

The presence of the numide auxiliary is a must!
I am fan.
It is the kind of detail which one would like to see more!
