There was rope in the Corbridge Hoard - it was used to tie the bundles of spearheads together. There is nothing organic surviving for, in common with everything else perishable in the box (and the box itself), it is preserved as mineral-preserved organics (MPOs) derived from the rust. You can see it in Fig.12 in the Hoard report and there is a description of it (on pp.92-3) in John Peter Wild's textile report:<br>
