Numbering & measuring - richsc - 09-01-2004 An intentionally short book (otherwise it would have to be "very long" says the author), "Numbering and Measuring in the Classical World, Revised 2nd Edition" by W.F. Richardson, is a great overview of how the Greeks and Romans did math. Published by Bristol Phoenix Press, 2004, ISBN 1-904675-18-2.
