JRMES book reviews - mcbishop - 07-12-2019
After discussion amongst the members of the editorial board of the Journal of Roman Military Equipment Studies, it has been decided to trial book reviews (both academic & popular) in volumes 20 (2019) & 22 (2021).
It is early days at the moment, but these will probably take the form of individual reviews for relevant books and a review article on popular books, with the aim of assessing the (buzzword alert no.1) reception and (buzzword alert no.2) impact of academic research into the subject. Reviews editor will be The Good Dr Coulston, who will pick victims whose only rewards will be to keep whatever it is they get to review and the inner glow that comes from having performed this task.
