Drug use in Rome - Lothia - 04-10-2020

There was a thread earlier that mentioned an article about drug use and abuse in Rome.  It listed the source as BBC History, June 2015.

I never could find a copy of that, so I did some dredging around in on-line book sellers and found:

The Chemical Muse by DCA Hillman, PhD.

The book has only one chapter devoted to ancient Rome and Greece, but for someone who is interested, you might look at it.

I looked on the BBC History website but could see nothing in the June 2015 issue that seemed relevant.  However, there was an article on drug use in the ancient world in the August 2019 issue that you can read there:  https://www.historyextra.com/period/ancient-history/ancient-drug-use-history-how-what-for-opium-hemp/
