Roman Villa 28mm - Colonel Chabert - 12-28-2020

Hello all,

This is the Waterthorne Villa from Warbases. It's an MDF kit so needs a bit of detailing to give texture etc. I used an acrylic paste for the walls and plastic pantile sheets from Wills for the roof.

Here's the gardener, Compostus, taking a break from his labours to stare off into space.

And here's the proud owner.

Some interior detailing.

The farm shop.

And after a nice lunch some Roman officers assemble for a chat. The tribune on the right doesn't seem to like what he is hearing.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year,

Superb and inspiring work on the Villa and its interior.  Your figure painting is very good.
I like the whole layout.
Thanks for posting.

Beautiful job and nice photography. I'm working on a Roman villa courtyard garden in 1:6 scale. I am using live plants so I've had to do a crash course in bonsai before starting.

Good grief, live plants!!!!! That's dedication. How are you going to keep them alive?

I'm trying to find plants that can survive on low water levels but also look ok at a miniature scale and are appropriate for a Roman garden. I have a few contenders.

That's an awesome job, 28mm really allows to give faces much more expression than the scales I'm used to (15 and 20mm)! What paints are you using for the villa?
