Mapping Roman Military dispositions. - Ernie - 01-06-2021

I am working (slowly) on a map of the Roman Military, fortifications and unit locations. My main data base is Google Earth. I want to develop a tool which provides brief data on the units and forts and can be used a guide if you are in a certain area and want to visit some sights. You can see imagery on Google earth. I also plan to include battle locations and famous persons birthplaces. It differentiates between units in the Notitia. Each unit has an Icon which is shown at one of its bases, other locations are shown in the text of the icon.

I have a primary draft for the entire empire and secondary drafts for Northern England - Scotland, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Libya and half of Hungary. Smile
I can show an example on Google Maps but the Earth version is more useful.

I usually work in strange lands and have visited Roman/Ancient sites in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Italy, UK, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq.

Covid made me do it.
