Great fancy dress - Tarbicus - 09-25-2005

Squint, get your eyesight blurred, and check this out:

It's definitely one of the best, and I had to think "If only the Gladiator costumers had access to these segs and helmets (without the obvious bits)..."

Cheers.

Hmm, it's my godson's and his little brother's birthdays coming up. Will their mother beat me to a pulp is the question? :?

Well I wouldn't but your godson and his brother might...."we wanted Obi Wonkanobi " how do you spell that, I just made one embarassing error which I luckily noticed....

STAR WARS: It is also inspired in Spartan or Roman Culture, look at that helmet, but I just got the red Royar Guard without crest Cry

Some of the hairstyles could be inspired by Roman or Greek too.....

Re: Great fancy dress - A_Volpe - 09-28-2005

Gladiatrix costume...Hrm.. The Flail is quite a bit off, but the heels *really* makes it :?

Obi-Wonkanobi...HA! I love it! That's too damn funny! Mind if I use that?

Most Star Wars stuff is certainly taken from all sorts of cultures and time periods. Look at Darth Vader...Helmet is both Samurai and German Wermacht inspired. The Death Star gunners, Jousting helmets; Fleet commanders, early Samurai helmets, almost too obvious; Space Battle Scenes, taken from WW1 and WW2 fighter and bomber gun cameras. (that actually was thier resource material!). Millenium Falcon, Cheeseburger....It's FULL of references. that's what makes the films so much more fun!
