Green Board Game Co. - \'Romans\' - Carus Andiae - 09-30-2005

At a Craft Fair in Jersey, Channel Islands yesterday I aquired a new board by by the Green Board Game Company. It's simply called 'Romans'. The board is a simplified map of the Empire at its peak, and the aim is to make yourself Emperor. There seem to be elements of 'Risk' and 'Monopoly' involved. Each player is a general, who must take control of a given number of provinces. Once the correct number of provinces have been aquired one must race back to Rome. Along the way you answer trivia questions about Roman history, collect 'Fortuna' cards which way or may not help you, and also 'Army' cards which strenthen your forces. The last are significant since from time to time you may have to defeat your fellow generals to capture a province from them.

Looks quite fun. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, though.

Sounds interesting!Any updates on the game play?
I have found that Imperium Romanum II is possibly the best(although complicated)game around.
