Re: Codex theodosianus - Carlton Bach - 05-05-2006

Do you mean this one?

The Theodosian code and novels, and the Sirmondian constitutions / a transl. with commentary, glossary, and bibliography by Clyde Pharr, in collaboration with Theresa Sherrer Davidson and Mary Brown Pharr. With an introd. by C. Dickerman Williams
Princeton, NJ : Princeton Univ. Press 1952
ASIN B0000CIDRQ, no ISBN

I think there's a newer version out from the lawbook Exchange (ISBN 1584771461) amd I think Greenwood Press.

Or were you looking for an online version? Uznfortunately I can't help you there.

Re: Codex theodosianus - Cornelius A - 11-08-2011

Anyone knows an online version of the Codex Theodosianus?
Thanks

Google books is very much your friend here:-

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-ROBb7SIvYgC&pg=PR3&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=3#v=onepage&q&f=false

It says that there are some pages missing from this 1907 translation, but I've yet to find any.

I'm not sure where 1907 comes from. The link is to Clyde Pharr's 1952 translation. Pages 101 and 114-645 are not included.

1907 was Thatcher wasn't it. Doh. Senior moment.

Some of 114-645 are there. I've found that the odd page is missing and a big chunks after page 190 (190-249 and 294-342).

Still, better than nothing eh?

Especially if you have managed to access Bk.VII. It seems to work differently for you than it does for me. Very odd.

Re: Codex theodosianus - Medicus matt - 11-10-2011

I wonder if it's country specific?

Michael, I've just clicked on the link on this thread and the google book loads most pages, not all of them as it states its a 'review' of the book that starts up, but it does load book VII and all the rest, with the exceptions I noted. I'm wondering if you get the full text only if you buy the ebook version?

If you're in "Zummerzet" and I'm in Bedfordshire, perhaps it's county specific!

I don't know what you're doing that I'm not but I still can't get anything after p.113. It doesn't matter to me - I've got the book - but it might do to others.
