Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 06-01-2006 Off the top of my head, the legion in the area in the late 2nd century is Legio XXX UV. The capricorn is also mentioned in connection with that legion (see the Ritterling article on legio XXXUV. Re: Helmet Database - Robert Vermaat - 06-02-2006 Robinson may have classified the Deurne helmet as a spangenhelm, but that's dead wrong - it's a ridge helmet, like the Berkasovo and Intercisa types. Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 06-02-2006 Ok. Will be fixed. Re: Helmet Database - Robert Vermaat - 06-02-2006 I'd love to edit it myself, but please realise that I don't have the info for earlier helmets... Re: Helmet Database - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 06-05-2006 Could be useful to add photos not only of the real gear, and put photos of modern reconstructions? Is an idea... Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 06-05-2006 Certainly is a good idea. Re: Helmet Database - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 06-05-2006 I can give you some photos of all LEGIO PRIMA GERMANICA helmet reconstructions. Any especification (size, format, etc...)? Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 06-05-2006 Hi César, They would have to be 650*650 jpgs and more importantly they would have to be exact replicas of that specific helmet. Re: Helmet Database - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 06-05-2006 EXACT REPLICAS That's very dificult. I  have to make a "review" of our helmets and see how many "exact" are each one. Probably, it's interesting to make a database with the exact replicas but adding too the "very close" reproductions... adding some text explications. Re: Helmet Database - FAVENTIANVS - 06-05-2006 explications as explanations. Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 11-29-2006 Recently many new photos have been added to the helmet database. Some are for completely new additions, in other cases (Worms especially), new photos have replaced older ones. Re: Helmet Database - Praefectusclassis - 11-30-2006 New photos for the Caerleon Imperial Gallic J. Thanks Mike!
