How would we know what ancient Romans looked like EXACTLY? None of us were there, so this will remain an unanswerable question. We can get a pretty good idea, but that will always be based on artistic representations (statues, frescoes, mosaics) or descriptions from authors.

Immunes can't be gained, it's not a points thing. If you mean laudes, these are gained by good and interesting posts.

In answer to Woadwarrior:

There are some pix of Comitatus' civilians here:

We're Late Roman, so look a little different from the 1st-2nd century Ermine Street Guard civvies. There's a useful book: Roman Clothing and Fashion by Alex Croom, which has plenty of pictures of Roman civilian clothing, including those from different provinces.

If you literally want to see what a Roman looked like, here's a reconstuction of the face of a Roman Woman from London, using her skull, found in a 4th century burial:

Archaeological finds have also been known to help on this front too, if memory serves

Of course you're right about that, but I wasn't thinking of jewellry or fibulae, but of faces and hair and stuff like that.. 8)

And archaeology can help with that too - re: the other link in my previous post to the reconstruction of the woman's face, and there are finds of hair in burials, eg. at York:
