French trireme - 1865 - Titus Martius - 06-01-2006 Hi all! I have just found this piece of old newspaper in my father's files. There is a reconstruction of Roman trireme from 1865, built by French engineers and historians to check the system of rowing on the river Seine. The test was unsatisfactory.
