Greek heavy metal - Arthes - 06-16-2006 Khaire, I found a link to this site...[url:14vxgsg1]http://www.sacred-blood.com/ a Greek band in the style of 'Viking' metal who are in the process of producing an album dedicated to Thermopylae...so I guess they are 'Hoplite' metal... They call their sound 'epic power folk metal' A little too 'thrashy' for me at times .... but Gates of Fire sounds ok... and I love the site 'Intro'. For MP3 downloads and samples go here [url:14vxgsg1]http://www.sacred-blood.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownload&cid=1 regards Arthes Re: Greek heavy metal - Comerus Gallus - 06-17-2006 Wow! Back in the 80's this would be one of many rock band LP on my collection, but not one of my favorite. What I like the best its that is not about satanism & negative mesages, you know what I'm talking about.! ...But its about Greek stuff cool!. Yes its too thrashy, too fast with the guitar but the drumms go behind that is what I didnt like of thrash & less death thrash, Death Metal & Grind, Black Metal was my option, sometimes Heavy Metal I Started withIron Maiden, one of greek sound was the Flight of Ikarus. BTW: You always Cristy!...nice find  Re: Greek heavy metal - Tarbicus - 06-17-2006 Aha! Spartan World Athlos - Arthes - 11-23-2006 Greetings, This was forwarded by Polydekis of Sacred Blood/Folkearth/Athlos - some of you will definitely find it of interest... ATHLOS: NEW PROJECT FROM MEMBERS OF FOLKEARTH Hails there! I want to post sime update here concerning my musical projects.. Well, due to the fact that with my main band SACRED BLOOD we await the release of our debut album, nothing is really going on, and having already finished the assigned jobs in FOLKEARTH, I decided to launch a new project along with some bandmates from FOLKEARTH and true friends as well. We united under the working band name ATHLOS (meaning deed in Hellenic Language) and we are working on some songs, inspired of course from our Ancient Culture, Mythology and History. The line-up so far is: Me of course, guitars, flute, whistles, accordion, keyboards, etc.. Thanasis Karapanos: Guitars, bass, drums, vocals Hild Valkyrie: Vocals Marios Koutsoukos: Lyrics, Vocals and maybe some other people... And some working titles are: The Rage of Hekatonchires Dance of The Kouretes Aegean Blue Hellas Eternal In the Vineyards of Dionysus Ulysses before the Gates of Hades ( Necromantia) Talos Unleashed Olympian Storm And an untitled, yet, song, talking about the Cretan ritualistic tradition of Bull-vaulting.. Of course some titles may change, but I am providing this early info to let you know what is going on in a basic framework.. Anyway, That's all for now bros and sisters, Polydeykis Re: Greek heavy metal - MARCvSVIBIvSMAvRINvS - 11-23-2006 it sounds very old school to me..... however its nice to hear that style again... i am used to hardcore punk, hardcore metal, black metal etcetera....... and Japanese heavy shit......... M.VIB.M.
