Cuneiform mug - Jona Lendering - 06-20-2006

Eisenbrauns, a publisher specialised in ancient Near Eastern studies that modestly calls itself the "merchant of the four corners of the world", now offers a cuneiform mug that will enable you to show off your knowledge of Akkadian.

"There is no transliteration or translation on the mug (although we include a slip of paper with that information), just the cuneiform text of the first two lines of the Enuma Eliš. Impress your friends and dazzle your enemies, impress the dean, intimidate the new graduate students, there is no end to the uses for this mug. Of course, it works great for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, too."

TPAM has a Cuneiform mug......

Rather nice touch I must say......how to confuse the tradesman working in your home, when you make their mug of tea...(and of course there will be the one who says....'ah Cuneiform, is that Akkadian text?' and then you find out he lurks on RAT')
