Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Laurie Wise - 03-04-2007 Shield facing update. The facing is Yellow Bronze! (not brass as I first thought) and shield painting was done by "Spartan Creations". The Thracian Bronze helmet was done by Piella of Lone Mountain Forge (and knowing the owner, I just bet Piella had no idea what he was letting himself in for!) I will be sure to let him know, Kallimachos. Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Anonymous - 03-06-2007 Well, well! So we see just how very yellow bronze can look! Courtesy of Paul Allen: The shield is now part of the British Museum Touring Exhibition on Ancient Greece; we took part in a launch parade this morning. Hopefully, I'll have some pictures of that, soon, which will not only feature the shield, but also my Thespian Melanochitonos panoply. Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - T. Finkas - 03-31-2007 Not a Greek Warrior, but we are the cops that keep 'em in line when they are off-duty in Athens. "Hey, Boyo...where are ya going with that unwatered wine? Pour it out on the curb me lad. Dat's a good feller. Now move along wid ye." http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v87/f ... ic2006.jpg This is my initial Scythian outfit. Yeah, I know...I need to make a Scythian outfit for my wife too instead of the generic Middle Eastern stuff she is wearing here. One thing at a time, okay? To come: More work to complete this outfit, plus a full SCA list-legal harness for me in the style of the 4th cent. Soloko Golden Comb. ---- This evening I am starting my Mycenaean boots for my Warrior Vase impression.
