Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Ioannis - 05-21-2007 Very impressive!!! Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - spyros - 05-21-2007 Great photos, Thank you Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Thersites - 05-21-2007 Thanks. I believe this also gives the right 'feeling' of an advancing phalanx . Pity some people still believe 'lambdas' are right for the period before c. 460 BC. Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Decimus Apollonius - 05-21-2007 Very cool guys!!!! I really like the Shield with the Mantis on it...never seen anything like it before. Any info on this? Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - hoplite14gr - 05-21-2007 Colonist hoplite shield from Ionia. Still under research. Probalby from fratria rather than city state. Kind regards Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 05-21-2007 I have seen some plastic helmets and cuirass painted with spray... Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Hoplitesmores - 05-21-2007 I cant see the pics i am going crazy , do you have an external link for them? Please! Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Thersites - 05-21-2007 Quote:I have seen some plastic helmets and cuirass painted with spray... Certainly... you are right. That was a pity and a concession to the Dark side of the Force (remember... easier and quicker way to reach the objective). And these mistakes should be corrected ASAP. However, the overall effect of the 'phalanx' was striking, and the didactic approach was not bad. I've seen much worse over the years. This particular group is still very young and has to steer a clear course, which should mean avoiding plastics and some flagrant anacronisms. This said, hoplite groups are rare and should be supported, while at the same time trying to maintain historical accuracy. Also, all groups have their skeletons in the cupboard! Let me hasten to add that I do not belong to ANY reenactment group! I've prepared a small Powerpoint for you and friends and uploaded it to Rapisdshare. Here's the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/32579921/Ta ... 7.ppt.html Enjoy it!
