Endromides, a decent pilos helmet, Thrakian romfaioforos with reconstructed Argo - this is getting way too cool ! Congratualtions to all of you. If we had to vote on the best impression over the years it would be very dificult indeed.

Thanks for your kind words.

The pictures are a pleasure to view.

And Stefan, that is a great helmet!

Excellent work. When and who constructed the Argos? That is way too cool! Big Grin

Private project from Men of Vision five years ago if memory serves me right.
Jason's voyage was reconstructed also.

Kind regards

Is that Argo or Argo II? I think I have read there is second Argo being built! But it was quite some time ago, I do not remember the article. Our ship is currently getting a new paintjob, red and black are the colors. More to come in a not so distant future Smile

And I'm still very grateful! Smile

Well since it is the reconstruction its ArgoII I guess.
Kind regards

Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Lýsandros - 05-20-2010

Not so nice of you to make fun of me, evil Stefanos Smile

My previous statement, alas poorly explained, was concerning just the reconstruction projects ARGO and ARGO II. If we take the original Argo into consideration, it would mean these ships would be called Argo II and Argo III respectively. So is this Argo II or III? Smile

Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Giannis K. Hoplite - 05-20-2010

Yes,this is Argo II. The first one was built many years ago and it was a much smaller ship, based on a famous vase of Odysseus and the Seirens. I know very little about it. So this is Argo II.

Any other pictures of the boat?

These are all amazing! There's a Greek/Roman gathering that's taking place in Madison, Wisconsin in the first week of August that I won't be able to attend, but I'm sure it will feature many folks dressed as such. It would have been my first festival of that nature and unfortunately I will have to miss it. But on the plus side it is because I'll be attending my first semester of graduate school at Indiana University. Go Hoosiers!
