Stefanos, this is A REAL CORINTHIAN HELMET in the picture! Is it made by Manning Imperial perhaps?

That is exactly what I thought when I saw that photo Jyrki!
I sooooo want a corinthian from Manning. With a transverse crest! Big Grin D

Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Virilis - 01-17-2007

Yes, I have always drooled over these Manning Imperial corinthians! I would love to buy one but the transport expences and the customs (24% here in Finland!) are the last straw breaking my camels back Cry ...

Hi Gioi!

Is it possible to see more pictures of you wearing that gorgeous macedonian helmet? It is definitely a helmet I would like to buy if I only had the money Cry ...

Well here they are:

and the original

I've tried to upload the pics, but got the message "Sorry, you have reached your maximum Upload Quota Limit of 1 MB" to bad.

You know, just looking at those photos of the original, it reminded me of those fancy brass Victorian fireman's helmets, just take away the cheek pieces..... :?:

Er...what does this remind you of I have never noticed these things before...

Yep, agree with you Cristina
Best representation of the Stenyklaros mora that I have seen so far as I posted before.

Guess he must have seen our work in the internet and he went a step forward.

Kind regards

This is a friend of ours, a Macedonian/Thracian reenactor, who commissioned my husband to make the Bronze Greek cuirass (4th Century BCE) he is wearing here (sorry for the cross posting...could not get the image alone to work).

Greek/Thracian panolpy

This was taken at the recent SCA Estrella War 2007. This person also owns the Rhomphaia mentioned in the "Allies and Enemies" forum.

The leather undergarment (please excuse the misnomer) was made by "Spartan Creations" here in Arizona mentioned earlier in this subject thread.

Somewhere I have a photo of two more panolpies made by "Spartan Creations". He has always had a fascination with early Greek/Macedonian panolpy and is very thorough in his research before beginning a project. Wonderful, fabulous work.

That's very nice kit! I'm interested to note how yellow the bronze looks. The shield looks a little yellower; is it faced in brass? If so, it makes an interesting point of comparison.

Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Laurie Wise - 03-01-2007

I "Thank you" for him and will be sure to give your complement with this link to read for himself.

Yes, I believe it is faced with brass. I can find out from the owner to make sure (or he will register to post it himself). This particular shield was made in England and he ordered it from there.

The inside is quite authentically done. I have asked the owner to send me closeups of the cuirass for the AA site which also shows details of the shield inside.

Re: Show here your Greek warrior impression - Arthes - 03-01-2007

That is rather gorgeous...! Big Grin
