Roman Slinger, Signum and Barbarian Pics - Primvs Pavlvs - 11-06-2006 These are a few pics from a small event my friend and I went to. I decided not to wear armour for any of the pics since it was around -5 celcius when we first got there. About everthing I am wearing. I made except the helmet, and the sword. The helmet is a Deepeeka that I reworked, and added a crest designed by Peroni. The sword is the reworked Joe Piela sword I have posted on the board before. The shield was made from measurements provided to me by Dan Peterson last fall. Its 1/2 inch plywood covered in linen, and edged in leather. This was my first time slinging with a shield, and in full kit. One thing that I learned was the sword gets in the way very easily. That is why I have it behind my hip. Also it seemed very natural to have the shield in my left hand to help balance the throw.
