Hamata - Gaius_Calvus - 01-18-2007 Avete, Wanted to post these pics of the 6mm Hamata that I received from Find-It Armory, with which I am very pleased. I replaced the leather (thanks to Peroni for the how-to and great pictures he sent) and the hooks/buttons with some superb work by Matt Lukes. Edge Re: Hamata - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 01-18-2007 Very nice. Now put one with you inside! Re: Hamata - Primvs Pavlvs - 01-18-2007 I am sooooo jealous! Re: Hamata - Gaius_Calvus - 01-18-2007 Cesar, I will do exactly that! We have an event this weekend and I will don my gear and post more pics on Monday. I had no armor before this arrived and I re-worked it, so have not posted an impression on RAT until I was no longer relying on "borrowed" equipment. Edge Re: Hamata - Magnus - 01-18-2007 Great piece Edge, look forward to the shots of you in it! Re: Hamata - john m roberts - 01-18-2007 Edge: What's the weight of your hamata? Re: Hamata - Tarbicus - 01-18-2007 Also Edge, how is the shoulder doubling attached at the back? Re: Hamata - Gaius_Calvus - 01-18-2007 Brothers, The weight is 22 lbs, about 10 kilos. The cape is attached at the back with a row of mail rings that attach directly along the entire width of the cape. Very sturdy -- in the course of replacing the leather I did a lot of tugging on it. I'll post some more pics on Monday. The ones I posted are the only ones I have so far -- I'll get some of the back for you Jim. Edge Re: Hamata - Tarbicus - 01-18-2007 Thanks very much, look forward to seeing it. Re: Hamata - John M McDermott - 01-19-2007 Is this a prototype? I thought the 6mm shirts were yet to be shipped? Re: Hamata - Gaius_Calvus - 01-19-2007 John, This is THE prototype that Chris mentions on the Marketplace thread, so your information is correct. I got in early on this one. The rest of them have not shipped yet. Edge Re: Hamata - Aurelianus - 01-19-2007 What is the most accurate chain mail at the moment? I've heard different things about! How are the chain mails from Antoni Feldon? Re: Hamata - John M McDermott - 01-19-2007 I believe those hand built by Erik Schmidt are the most accurate. Does Anthony Feldon make chain mail? Re: Hamata - Aurelianus - 01-20-2007 Hi John Thank you for your answer! Yes, Antoni Feldo make chain mails too! They cost 750 € (975 $). Re: Hamata - Marcus Mummius - 01-20-2007 Quote:Hi John At that price I fear they might be butted... |
