Space Camp - DanM - 06-15-2007

I'm flying to nashville tommorow with my dad. I'm gonna see a reconstruction of the parthenon in nashville tn. Then My dad and I will drive into huntsville AL. I'll go to a baseball game, then the day after I'll check in to space camp with my friend. They have a pretty cool museum. Have any of you been to that museum (US space and rocket center)? They have the apollo 16 cm, and a replica of the cockpit of an apollo capsule that people can go inside of! They have some rides in the rocket park there. If you are ever near huntsville, I think you should check out that museum.

No, I've not been there, but many, many years ago -it must have been 1970 or something, when I was six years old- my father took me to the Amsterdam airport. There was a museum with all kinds of airplanes, which I do not remember any more; but there was also the CM of the Apollo 8 (or 11??). The heat shield was so badly damaged, I was really impressed that people had actually been inside that thing and had traveled 800,000+ kilometers. I've always remained intrigued by space flight; Gene Cernan was my idol - I had photos of him on the wall near my bed. I hope you enjoy it and can put some photos online.
