Byzantine infantry man by Osprey.

I read Dr T. Dawsons work.
It was simple enjoyable and you do not need to be an academic to read it.
He uses his reenacting experience, he uses sensible appoach and he knows his subject.
Balkan readers feels that he touches the subject of Byzantium and its army in a better way than other Osprey similar titles

Supported by what were probably the last images of "uncle Angus".
His work is not up to what he has given us so far but it gets the job done.

Since I might be positively prejudiced because he had given me alot of help with my Varrangian and Latinikon articles I hope to see more opinions .

Personally I would like to see him presenting the Byzantine cavalry man too.

Kind regards

I was hopeful for this book but in the end didn't buy it. Not because it is a bad book but already having McGeer's "Sowing the Dragon's Teeth" I think I already have the material that the book covers. If you don't I think it is probably a very good book to start from.

What I would like is something on the subject covering the C8th, C9th and C10th before the Praecepta material. Any suggestions?
