Salve,
I would like to ask experts on how to make a roman slingers pouch for ammunition, or in latin, a marsupia(I think that is the correct name?).How big it should be? is there any specific materials (thickness?) or patterns for this pouch? Any archeolocigal finds or anything ?

Hello
According to Martine Leguilloux in, "le cuir et la pelleterie à l'époque romaine", (leather and skincraft during the roman times : I don't know if there's an english translation of this book), errance ed., p. 159. :
Marsupium is a small leather bag bigger than crumena. Generally a marsupium is made from two rectangular or square pieces of leather sewn with à leather bind. It can be hanged around the neck. Some examples have been found in the wreck of Commachio (1st century BC), in Valkenburg (2nd century AD) and in the cave of Letters in Israël.
If my scan agree to serve, I will show tou some pictures
But for the precise purpose of a slinger, I'm sorry ta say that I didn't find anything.
Regards
Greg

Do you have photos and measurements on the Valkenburg finding?
