Cheap gladius transformation
#1
Hello,

With a little modifications, you can get a decent gladius very cheap.

I have buy that gladius for 85 eur ir armillum:

Then i have made a plate decorated, soldered some ribed pieces, and relocate the palmette. I have made the ridges of the bone handle deeper, too.

That's the sword.

Nice work, Cesar!

This is the gladius I have. Edge and I replaced the leather on the scabbard as well and modified the palmette:

I also made a thicker bone handle for mine, sharpened the sword, and am replacing the wooden parts. Now I will think harder about doing some brass inserts as well
