On page 69 figure 2
The picture of the "ligo" is not the best reproduction.. shadows apparently mess with perspective.... I had always assumed the cutting blade was vertical (axe-like), but its probably horizontal.... if its similar to the WWII tool

Anyone have pictures of the original "ligo" or of another?

They're both 3rd-century AD from Künzing, but the form is basically the same throughout the imperial period.

I've had a reproduction made of the Kunzing ligo (on the left I think). I can post a picture later.
