How reenactment got in my life.
#16
I watched the American Rev and American Civil War reenactors when I lived in Virginia as a teen.

I was fencing in university, and got a job doing fights/ stunts etc with a local theater company. They wanted sword and shield and halberd work, so I started fighting in the SCA. When I got to Ft Knox, I volunteered to work at the museum in my off time, and we drove tanks, etc, in WW2 costume.

Later I got into ACW and Mex-War reenactments (artillery), and then met Dan Peterson as a result of my thesis work. Roman re-enactment was better than SCA, more realism, more like the ACW and Mex-War groups standards of equipments. I have always been interested in the time period.

I still play SCA, but Roman reenacting is my main love. (I am also a member of a blackpowder 'gunfighter group' and still help sometimes as a safety officer with live fire cannon shoots.)
