The belt is based on a combination of one of the Kessel type 'A' hooks and an adapted version of the 'löchgurtelhaken' bronze belt covering found nearby.
Although in Northern Germany they are generally found in female grave finds, the hooks and metal covering from the Netherlands are predominantly found in military contexts with weaponry and other military type deposits.
It would appear that the Batavian versions certainly have their own styles and uses.
