Hi,
Just noticed this posting, if you're interested in any samianware I've some very nice pieces available and at really good prices, most of the items for under £10. They are from a potter in Spain and as I am over there 2-3 times a month for work I fill my suitcase up on the way back, this means the price stays low. Everyone that I've spoken to so far has been impressed with them and I sold about 35 pieces at the last traders fair in Warwickshire. If you let me know your email I can send a catalog and pricelist to you. The prices don't include postage. My stock is entirely dependant on what I manage to get in my case and it really does vary but I can let you know what I have in.
All the best

I am looking for "Samian ware" with designs. I am not getting into an argument about whether or not the plain wares sold as "Samian" are proper, but when I collect "Samian ware" I expect to get items like shown in museums, with raised designs. The last bowl I got, managed to make it into the destructive airlines baggage service, and arrived in pieces, (making it more for display than use).

A number of the pieces I can get have raised designs on them, nothing figural but nicely decorated. They include the Dragendorff 11,30 and 37. These are mostly under 25 GBP, post to the USA wouldn't be too bad weight wise but like you say it's getting there without the piece ending up a self assembly kit! The only way I could think of would be to wrap it in foam and suspend that in a box of polystyrene chips. If you like I can email you the catalog.I'll be in Spain on Wednesday to pick some more up.
