Do any of our Italian friends (or even those who have been fortunate enough to explore Rome) have a photograph of the Porta Tiburtina on the Esquiline? Inner face? Inscribed panels?
In case it jogs any memories, here is a photo of the gate:[attachment=0:2suxdrnh]<!-- ia0 Porta_Tiburtina_interior.jpg<!-- ia0 [/attachment:2suxdrnh]
Unfortunately, I can't see the inscriptions above the arch.
In case anyone is lurking in the area with a digital camera ( ) I am particularly interested in the middle one, which seems to be a little overgrown.
