Inscriptions and language of Ancient Macedonia
#1
Khairete,
this may be of interest to some of you.....[url:3275yfst]http://alexander.macedonia.culture.gr/2/21/211/21116/21116ek/e211pe01.html
includes an honoury inscription to Alexander....!

Even more interesting is this new site, still under construction........Ancient Script in the World: Macedonia......[url:3275yfst]http://ancientmacedonianscript.blog.com.mk/node/2552
It seems if you are a lady talking to an ancient Illyrian and he asks to see your bra....he is asking for your brother....so do not slap him....
Dover (in England) is a Paeonian word meaning trust, belief or faith.... :?

The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

the first site is neat and useful. the second is... Well, let's just say it has few if any redeeming qualities. Such gems as
Quote:LONG,SO LONG TIME BEFORE SUMERIANS,ASIRIANS,ALL MESOPOTHAMIANS CULTURES,EGYPTIANS,PHENICIANS,"GREEKS"......SCRIPT IS BORN AT MACEDONIAN PENINSULA

It even has a page dedicated to the "Greek and Bulgarian Lairs" [sic - they seem to mean "liars"], placing those groups' origins in the sub-Sahara...

Dover was known to the Romans as Dubris, from a native British word for "water."

Agree with Dan.

Well as the for the second link....free speech is not necesarily true speech

As for the most ancient script in Macedonia is from Dispilio Castoria and it is in Linear A (Greek!). If you want an image plase ask.
Kind regards

Khairete,
I realised after posting the second link that the site was rather 'biased' when I had another look
But I thought the Script pages would be acceptable as there are some amongst us with an interest in the Argaed Royal House and obviously the language they spoke....
Apologies....
Yes please, Stefanos.......!

Cristina the inscription you presented is a linear B tablet in the Herakeion Meuseum in Crete. It describes the equipment of a warlord of the Kourites warrior fraternity of the Bronze age.
Attached please seeare the linear A tablet found in Dispilio in Macedonia.
No two scholars agree in its translation yet except the Linear A was Greek.
Kind reagrds
