Found A Legio X in Florida
#1
In the past I have seen inquiries about whether there was a unit to join
in Florida - I found the unit website:
http://legiox.org/home
From the website it appears that they are an active but small unit.
Anyone know anything about them?

WOW!

Thank you for posting, I have been searching and have no idea how i never found it. I even searched for groups in Orlando, i figured of all the places in Florida it would most likely be there. I wonder why no one knows about em though. Even if they are smaller than most do they not travel to Lafe and other nearby events?

I am going to try and contact them through their website.

Just thought I'd bump this once to see if anyone has heard, or has had contact with them.

They have a Yahoo group at this URL:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LegioX/

There are recent messages, so I guess the group is still alive. I don't know anything about them personally.

I'm close to Orlando but have never had any contact with them. I followed some leads through the XX's list of contacts and they seemed to in the SCA groups only. No way to E-mail them though.
Thanks John K. for posting some updated info for us in Florida.
Thanks,

There is a Group in orlando it is living history and reenactment orientated. it takes it impressions, kit, outlook and information very seriously and is always seeking to keep its authenticity standards high. It is as John Mentioned small but growing and is always ready to welcome new members interested. The Orlando group is NOT a SCA group. The next events for the year ending 2008 is :
a militaria show ( expecting it to cancel due to hurricane )
Pompeii Exhibit in Carolina
Roman Days
an educational display for the school board or lake county in november
