A friend of mine is making plastic jewelry in Neugablonz, and she showed me a new material she is using. It is made from Lignine, which is a leftover from the paper industry. It´s really amazing, it can be heated up and pressed into forms, just like regular plastic. When left outside, it simply decays, just like wood. But you can also laquer it etc. The stuff is called "Arboform", in the jewelry industry it is called scinagro. I found this english article:
