Quote:Howdy!
I wonder if there is someone who knows where to get a copy of this so-called varusmask:

I remember that someone has the "mould" of this mask but he is not willing to share the information ...
He was given a loan of the fiberglass copy, Virilis, IIRC, but he returned it to the museum......

Thanks Cesar! I am aware of the Ruestungschmiede`s replica; it just doesn`t look like the original in my opinion.
The Deepeeka one doesn`t have that "eerie" expression of the so-called varusmask which fascinated me in the first place...

I am the guy who had the copy of the Varus mask, however I had to respect the copyright of the museum. I was to have made a copy of it for the Kalkrieser however it never came about, I have of course made it two or three times in brass and had it silvered. I must have another go at it some time in the future, must make it correct in iron. These are the kind of things I can do, for I've made the Emesa one that is in Damascus museum. I also have made the famous Trimontium sports helmet, and have put the very nice face mask onto it, though no one can say for sure if the two belong to eachother, this is displayed at Melrose museum that is the Trimontium Trust.

I agree. The Deepeeka one is not but does not have the feel that the original does. I think that the one from Ruestungschmiede is closer and starts to have the feel of the original but doesnt get the look totally of the original exactly
