just wondering what the evidence for Greek scale is?
The dimensions, methods of fastening the scales to
the backings.
Any archaological evidence with pictures and dimensions?
I would appreciate the info as there seems to be a lot of
effort going into scales of different periods, then evidence coming up after the fact that it is being done incorrectly.
could anyone enlighten me/help me out here?

You may want to get more specific with your question. For example, I have plenty of information for Mycenaean scale armour but the classical period is not my area of interest.
Actually that would also be of interest Dan.
But yes, I see I could have specified an era. mile:
I am thinking from 600 - 300BC
The links above have a few images of scale, but it's hard to pinpoint what is what,
and what era.

It is from grave 6, part of a leather cuirass. The eleven rows of bronze scale are sewn on to a double leather backing of sheep or goat skin, by rawhide thongs, the whole being edged in calf-skin.
It was found with a splint bronze and leather greave, and a very Scythian bronze elk’s head plaque which seems to have attached to the chest of the cuirass.
The date would be late 5th century. Michael Vickers “Scythian and Thracian Antiquities” is the best reference. The cuirass is even reconstructed on the front.

Can this be specifically referenced to Greeks as well?
I would like to be able to make several comparisons of scale style etc.
