Here`s my latest try to resurrect a mexican exchange auxilliary from COH I TIJUANORUM, 3rd century A.D.
I do an impression of a military musician here, a so-called MARRIACCHUS who is on his siesta

I would STRONGLY advise AGAINST ever putting a sword resting on the ground like you have in the 3rd photo. It's extremely bad for the blade.

Just to show how LS should look....front and back pics....both worn with a homemade/made up Subarmalis.
Notice the Ventralis in operation to support the back and pad out the Armour. Not Archeologically proven......but works well in re-enactment.. Gives the Seggies the "flare" on the hips....this is a Corbridge A.

Here is my latest foray into republican. Nice of the comilitones to mention the unhooked doubler hooks......
