Vindolanda finds

Apologies if this has already been posted.  This appeared in the Observer newspaper (Sunday "version" of the Guardian, hence the web address) today and describes some fairly spectacular new finds from Vindolanda near Hadrian's wall including two well-preserved swords:

Just try to ignore the reference in the title to the Picts - this stuff dates to around 100AD so about 200 years off the mark!

Alan, I know - when I saw the photo, I thought it was a replica or something out of their museum shop. Hopefully they will be putting this material on display in the not too distant future, either on-site or at Carvoran. Another re-write for the guidebook, too!

Impressive at least

I think Vindolanda is one of archaeology treasures
