Thanks Dave, I love it too, particularly as she's my little girl Smile

I love the family picture. And the helmet!

The Marathon pictures are great. I also really like the Macedonian hypaspist.

Last weekend I had a hoplite afternoon. This is a Boeotian Hoplite from the late 5th century. High boots, Pilos and sword held ready for use against a decorated internal face of the shield. With a nod to the grave relief of Rhynchon in the Thebes Archaeological Museum.

I own two pairs of “off the shelf” greaves neither of which fit me. I’ll stick to boots.

Byron, Thermopylae in ten years!!! You have more than enough time to be ready to be there. You and everybody else!

John, i simply love the boeotian impression :-) A couple of grave stones came to life! And yes, late 5th/ early 4th century hoplites seem to have worn boots more often than greaves!
I won't comment to Cole's photos because, well, i WAS there! But i will say that Cole is intimidating in his kit, if you see him live.

Ten year....I'll be old enough to play Leonidas by then!! lol

Well, I am hoping to have something ready by 2014, but possilby nothing
like I would like! I should have started on this in 2001 when I was first rekindling my interest
in my Greek roots! Why didn't they invent broadband 10 years earlier

You kit looks excellent Giannis!
