Show here your Greek warrior impression
It must have been nice in Thermopylae this year!
I almost finished my sword scabard. It is based on actual artifacts found in Vergina and in the battlefield of Marathon, and fro vase paintings. Those from Vergina had ivory,I have painted wood

Forgive the baldric in the first photos. The brass fitting are not yet complete(I need to find a way to secure them, nailing them I'm afraid will damage the wood underneath.Probably glue them?)

You made that yourself. Really nice work. What is the throat and chape made from?

The core is wood that I cut in half and carved the insided and the outside to become round. Then I covered it in leather. The black line is fabrick underneath the leather.Everything white is painted wood.
Yes Gioi,I've no idea where I could find ivory and in such quantity. And if I found,I doubt I could afford it...

The sword looks very good. Real ivory would be VERY expensive indeed. This is a very good imitation ivory, if you are interested: http://www.ivoryalternative.com/

There is, but it is very small, compared to the Spartan monument. Here are a few of my pics:
