I still say a well trained soldier will fall back to his training when all is said and done. Point in case: In the 1980's there was a shoot out in Texas, I want to say Dallas but not sure. Where several Police Officers were killed. All of them had empty casings in there pockets. They had been trained on the shooting range to put there empties in there pocket. This training came second nature and when they got into a real shoot out ,they tried to do the same thing when they reloaded there revolvers. The Officers that had survived the shootout were asked why they put the empties in there pockets they all replied with that's what we were told to do at the range. Shortly after the investigation they started to carry semi-auto pistols so they could no longer do that!
So I say that in the heat of battle, training will take over and soldiers will follow there training without even knowing it! I have seen this first hand in 2003 when we went into Iraq!
