Hi Tiberius,
I tried to use POV-Ray, which is a free software. But my problem is, that I can easily create all deck structures like towers, etc., but not humans nor the hull self.
It would be exciting to recreate the Roman fleet, don't you think so? I am into this since decades. And with raytracing (rendering), this dream moves into reach.
I think, a still model would do, to make it easier. I self should be able then to add oars, and simulate a ship under propulsion. Unless you can do the same.
Ideally, the crew would be on the oars and move them. But wow - that is really then a big challenge. So, maybe just the ship hull itself. But I need not only outside details, but inside details, as well. But it could pay off!!!
If you don't use POV-Ray, I would appreciate if each part of the hull could be converted into a mesh and converted then towards POV-Ray. I think, each mesh can have only one color or texture, so it would be many meshes to convert (export).
Best greetings,
Sven
