RANDOM REENACTMENTS FOR FUN
CITY BUS TRIP
A group of Roman Soldiers boards the city bus and rides to the Bus Terminal where they board the bus for the return trip. If asked what they are doing: "We are on the way to meet Caesar at the Rubicon."
POST THE GUARD
The Centurion marches his troops and post guards at a downtown public building or a foot bridge. Guards are rotated on the 1/2 hour. Public inquires: Guard - "Guarding against barbarian raids." Anything else " You will have to ask the Centurion"
ON THE WAY TO CAMPAIGN
A couple of Roman soldiers with full marching kit stand by side of the road hitchhiking. They wave a sign on period material that says "GAUL"
THE CHASE
Several armed barbarians hike a well traveled hiking trail or path. They tell passersby "If you seen the Romans don't tell them you saw us" A little while behind them the Roman soldiers in pursuit inquire "Have you seen the Barbarians? We are after them."
CONQUER NEW LANDS
Two barbarians show up unexpectedly at a pubic venue such as a park where a group of unsuspecting people are gathered. They have a basket of wooden swords and a bundle of spears. They gain everyone attention by blowing a horn and announce the the Roman Legions are on there way to conquer "our" homeland and try to get the crowd to take up arms and help them defend. Whereupon the the Legion appears in force and "arrests" the ringleaders confiscates the arms and marches away victorious. Some people in the crowd are plants and in on the plan
and either oppose or support the resistance.
