Carrhae - could Crassus have won?
#72
Having been under live fire (if not sharps) from mounted archers I can tell you it isn't easy for any length of time. Arrows do get through the gaps in formations or hit unprotected areas such as your feet!
Fasta Ambrosius Longus
John

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
