The Suren were a noble family of Parthain blood. Colin McEvedy's "Peguin Atlas of History" has the Suren kingdom marked off as some sort of semi-independent of principality.
The full name of the Iranian general who opposed Crassus is given as..........Eran Spahbodh Rustaham Suren-Pahlav, son of Arakhsh and Massis..........But Hell, you guys can just call me "The Suren"!
