It looks like the real "boogeyman" in ancient times was Getae/Dacians, who not only that was depicted as terryfing and was considered that Mars himself was born among them and rule their lands, but it really made Alex the Great, Pyrrhus (also called "the new Alexander") and Caesar to avoid them or even feel scared of them :twisted:
