Last known uses of "xiphos"-type sword ???

I realize you are interested in the Hellenistic world but this might still be of interest: Ross Cowan wrote an article in AW XII.4 about the adoption of what he calls "Gallic swords" in Italy. According to him the latest actual example of a "xiphos-type" sword comes from a tomb in Umbria, and dates to the first half of the fourth century BC. After that the "Gallic type" (straight sided short swords with anthropomorphic hilts) predominate. According to Ross, the finest examples of "xiphos-type" swords actually come from Italy.
