3rd cent greaves for 6th cent/Lorica Squamata shoulders?
#1
1. What do you guys think about the suitability of earlier period greaves for post Roman britian late 6th century (dare I say arthurian?). I am thinking the other alternative is splinted greaves?

2. According to the legio XX website Lorica Squamata had a reinforced should/cape piece like Hamata. If it had this wouldn't it also it need the hanger piece connecting the two ends of the "U" at the sternum to keep it from flapping around wildly? I have been digging for evidence of this but haven't found any. Arthur and the Anglo-Saxon wars osprey book shows hints (mostly obsecured by cloak) of pointed ends rather then the "stepped down" shoulder ends of the U like on hamata or a linothorax. Thoughts?
