There is another Hannibal film on ice right now....Denzel Washington was wanting to portray Hannibal as dark skinned....which started a lot of discussion about his background and origins (Hannibal not Denzel) it is quite possible that he was dark, although his (supposed) features to me looked more Arabic or Semenic (Hannibal).
