I see no reason where valid historical proof exists that women cannot do warlike impersonations.
I think of the Sarmatian headhunting girls and the women of Aetoliams and Phokians fighing agians the Gauls (Pausanias PHOKIKA).
To be honest I do not knw of any Roman examples.
Other more knowleged can be more informative here.
Now if a lady wants to renact something not historical, fine if she likes it, but its simply not historical.
