Yorkshire Museum re-opening 1st August

The York Museum Trust has invested £2million pounds in the project and the new look museum will re-open on Yorkshire Day, Sunday 01 August.
Renowned for it's outstanding archaeological and natural science collections, the new-look Yorkshire Museum will showcase these in three new galleries:

Extinct - A Way of Life
Face to Face with the Romans in York
Medieval York - The Power and the Glory

There will also be an AV Show in the museum which will portray the history of York. The Show will last approx 10 minutes and will highlight the periods including - Roman, Medieval, Anglo-Saxon and Viking York.

Comitatus will sending some legionaries to take part in the official opening from 11 am. The museum holds the largest Roman collection in the north of England, not counting the Wall. Cheese and wine all round, and it is only 3 miles away
